The LEARN program is a door-to-door paid canvassing effort designed to elevate conversations about public education in Denver and inspire community advocacy. By connecting school communities with the broader Denver community, LEARN fosters a shared vision for the future of education.

Our canvassing teams—largely made up of DPS alumni, parents, educators, and community members—engage Denver residents to understand their priorities and perspectives on public education.

LEARN Canvassers, hired seasonally and part-time, are responsible for conducting door-to-door conversations and canvassing with the goal of better understanding the public education issues that our community cares about and learning their vision for the future of public education in Denver.
  • We met our goal of knocking on 100,000 doors by the end of 2025, engaging in conversation with community members in every zip code in Denver
  • We engaged with more than 9,000 community members in our most recent listening campaign, identifying the trends that are most important to families.

LEARN Canvassers, hired for canvassing work in June, July, and August, are responsible for conducting door-to-door conversations and canvassing with the goal of better understanding the public education issues that our community cares about and learning their vision for the future of public education in Denver.

Who should apply?

  • Denver Public Schools parents, caregivers, educators, school staff, and graduates are all strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

Compensation and support

  • This is a part-time position (canvassers will be able to work up to 25 hours per week). The base rate for this part-time position is $31 / hour.
  • The rate for bilingual canvassers who are fluent in Spanish, Arabic, Amharic, French, Mandarin, Nepali, Somali, or Vietnamese is $36 / hour.
